Agave attenuata
Common Name: Fox Tail Agave, Spineless Century Plant, Soft Leaved Agave
Origin: Mexico
Height: Up to 4-6’
Light: Full sun to partial
Water: Only water if the soil is completely dry, and even then you can wait a day or two.
Bloom: A tall foxtail-like spike, reaching up to 10′. This plant blooms once it reached maturity after many years, then starts to deteriorate. The pups continue to grow after the older plant has died.
Comments: They are also unique in having relatively softer and broader leaves that look more lush and tropical than other agaves, yuccas, and aloes. Agave attenuata will thrive in periods of dryness.
